Hollins (wood) Cottage nestles in woodland in the Glenkens district of the Galloway Hills. It was originally a stone-built 3-room house which has been extended over the years and now offers comfortable accommodation for 5 which we are renting in 2024.
Downstairs is a cosy sitting room with log-burning stove, a large kitchen-dining room, a sun room with lovely views, a bathroom/toilet, utility room and the hallway.
Upstairs there is a master bedroom with king-sized bed, seating area and satellite TV, then there are two smaller bedrooms - one with a double bed and one with a single. Also upstairs is the second bathroom containing a shower, sink and toilet. A cot and high-chair are available.
The house has oil central heating throughout and the internet is good enough to watch streaming video on the TV in the sitting room or using wifi. There is a wood-burning stove in the sitting room. If that's too much like hard work then the radiators and coal-effect electric fire will keep you cosy. There are many books to read and a chest of games and pastimes too.
Outside the 3/4 acre garden is a great place to sit and admire the view, have a barbecue, or possibly a game of croquet!
Our "Short-Term Lets Licence" number is DG00925F and the EPC rating is E.

Due to Covid, things didn't get off to the start we had hoped for, but those who have stayed in 2020, 21, 22 and 23 seem to have enjoyed it! 2024 is already pretty booked up in peak season, so book early to avoid disappointment!
Weeks will not be booked "back to back" so we will always leave a gap between lettings to ensure that the house is safe and clean.
